SOC 101
HUMAN BEHAVIOR & SOCIETY
Overview
About This Course
People make decisions inside families, communities, institutions, and cultures, and those contexts shape what they choose and why. This course examines how individuals develop and behave within social systems, drawing on research from sociology, psychology, and social work. Students study socialization, group dynamics, inequality, and the ways social structures influence behavior across the lifespan. Coursework includes reading empirical research, evaluating evidence, and applying social science concepts to real situations. Designers and business owners who understand what drives human behavior communicate more effectively and build work that serves actual audiences.
Prerequisites: This is a general education course.
