In this course, students will delve into the foundational and contemporary theories that shape our understanding of visual art. Through critical analysis and discussion, students will explore the evolution of artistic movements, the philosophies behind various styles, and the social, cultural, and political forces that influence art. The course will guide students in developing their own critical perspectives, encouraging them to question and interpret artwork within historical and modern contexts. (3 semester credit hours)
